Heat network compliance is changing in 2027
From January 2027, Ofgem becomes the regulator for heat networks across England, Scotland and Wales. This brings rules similar to those for gas and electricity. A communal heat network serves one block of flats. A district heat network serves several buildings. Most London blocks built since 2010 have a heat network, with a Heat Interface Unit in each flat.
